Scholarships
Thanks to the generous contributions of our alumni, faculty, staff and friends, the College of Life Sciences has established the following endowed scholarship funds:
 Isidore and Annie H. Adler Memorial Fund: Established in 1991 by Annie H. Adler, in memory of her husband, Izzy, a former Professor of Chemistry. Provides scholarships for undergraduates in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. (Photos courtesy of National Youth Science Camp)
Eugenie Clark Scholarship Fund in Zoology: Established in 1992 by Professor Emerita Eugenie Clark, her friends and associates. Provides scholarships to students with impressive academic credentials and with an interest in pursuing research careers in the biological sciences. Cory Fund: Established in 1956 by colleagues, family and friends of Ernest N. Cory. Provides scholarships for undergraduates being mentored by Entomology faculty, staff or students. Click here for more information.
Carroll E. Cox Memorial Fund:
Established in 1963 by friends, staff associates and alumni, in memory of Dr. Carroll Cox, former Professor of Plant Pathology in the Department of Botany. Provides an annual scholarship for an outstanding graduate student in botany at UM.
Dr. Charles "Max" Hunt Dean's Scholarship in Life Sciences:
Established in 1999 by Dr. Hunt's niece, Anita M. Seline. Provides annual partial scholarship support for undergraduate students in the College of Life Sciences based on academic merit; preference may be given to students majoring in Chemistry or Biochemistry.
Ernest M. Levin Memorial Fund:
Established in 1987 by Doris E. Levin. Supports a Banneker/Key Scholarship for an outstanding undergraduate student in the field of chemistry with emphasis on accomplishments in research at UM.
Maud and Walter McCormack and Grace McCormack Scholarship Fund:
Established in 2000 through an estate gift by Grace McCormack. The fund is named in memory of her parents. Supports undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in the biological sciences.
Isabel R. McDonald Memorial Fund:
Established in 1976 to honor Ms. McDonald, who was a longtime secretary in the Department of Microbiology. Provides an annual scholarship award to an outstanding graduate student in the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics.
Charles F. Reichelderfer Memorial Fund:
Established in 1991 by Katherine Reichelderfer. Provides scholarships for graduate students enrolled in the Department of Entomology.
Robert Rowan, III Memorial Fund:
Established in 1979 by Dr. and Mrs. Robert Rowan, Jr., in memory of their son. Provides an annual award for excellence in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.
