Professional School Preparation
The Health Professions Advising Office serves all current students and alumni of the University of Maryland, as well as students enrolled in graduate programs or the Science in the Evening Program. They offer a wide variety of advising services to guide students through the academic and administrative processes necessary to achieve their goals.
The health professions advisors encourage students to learn through community service, clinical exposure, laboratory research, and campus organizations. They help students to become self-directed learners and to assume a significant role in their pre-professional education. Students are encouraged to become broadly educated in order to not lose personal growth opportunities.
The Health Professions Advising Office emphasizes the integration of a humanistic approach to pre-professional education with depth and breadth.
