Student Success Policy

Recent graduate of CLFS with MD flag on mortarboard
The goal of the Student Academic Success-Degree Completion Policy is to promote undergraduate student success. The policy establishes a structured framework and criteria to guide all students to completion of an undergraduate degree within a reasonable period of time.
  • Part of the Policy is to make sample Four Year Plans available to students.
  • Another aspect of the policy to provide benchmark courses that indicate satisfactory progress towards a degree.

Benchmark reviews in CLFS

  • Our benchmark reviews take effect starting in the first semester a student is in a CLFS major. Prior semesters don't count.
  • Students who are not in good academic standing (cumulative GPA less than 2.0) and who also do not meet their benchmarks will be required to change their major. Appeals can be made to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
  • All benchmark courses require a "C" minimum to meet the benchmark.
